Remember, Instagram is a community. Though there are BILLIONS of users you do not want to appeal to billions, millions, or even hundreds of thousands. As a new business owner find your niche/ hub/ your “people”. Hashtags allow all of us to do this. When you stay within your community sales will happen. Why?... networking without poaching. Let’s say you do cosmetics and you are a pro staying within your community. Through proper engagement you will get people who are naturally curious about who you are. That is all you need! Enough people to remain curious about your brand. In the upcoming week we will post about proper rules of engagement but, for this post we need to organize your hashtag use. Understanding where you are: The only question you need to ask is “How many followers do I have?”. Do not panic about having 200k or just 2, we want to focus on engagement and building presence. So here’s a guide to help you know where to start with hashtags: 0-5k followers Use target hashtags between 10k and 50k posts 5k-10k followers Use targeted hashtags between 50k and 100k posts 10k-20k followers Use targeted hashtags between 100k and 200k posts Take the time to build a list of 20 hashtags by following those hashtags.
